  " *सत्कर्म योगे वय घालवावे* " यातून खूप मोठा विचार सर्वाना दिला आहे.सत म्हणजे ईश्वर , ईश्वर हा निर्गुण स्वरूपात आहे त्याचेच सगून स्वरूप म्हंणजे समाज आहे. समाजाची सेवा करणे म्हणजेच  ईश्वराची सेवा करण्या सारखे आहे. ही सेवा करताना भाव हा समर्पित वृत्तीचा असायला हवा. त्या ठिकाणी कुठलिही स्वार्थ वृत्ती नको. कोणाकडून कुठलीही *अपेक्षा न ठेवता जे कर्म केले जाते तेच सत्कर्म होय.* 
 कर्मयोग हा भगवान श्रीकृष्णाने युद्धाच्या कर्म भूमीवर ज्यावेळी अर्जुन हा भावनेत अडकला व युद्ध न करण्याचे विविध कारणे सांगू लागला त्यावेळी भगवान श्रीकृष्णांनी कर्म योग् सांगितला. भावनेच्या स्तरावर कर्म योग्य होत नसतो. कारण *भावनेपोटी केलेल्या कर्मातून  दुःखच मिळत.* 
   *कर्म योग् म्हणजे "स्व" चा त्याग करून इतरांसाठी  सर्वस्व पणाला लावून सेवा करणे म्हणजे सत्कर्म.* म्हणजेच *निर्गुण असलेल्या ईश्वराच्या सगुण स्वरूपाची म्हणजे समाजाची सेवा करणे म्हणजे सत्कर्म आहे.* 
    *ज्याला सेवेची गरज आहे त्याची सेवा करणे हेच सत्कर्म आहे.* सातत्याने दुसऱ्याच्या आनंदात आनंदी होणे .म्हणूनच  रामदास स्वामी म्हणतात " *सत्कर्म योगे वय घालवावे"असेच सत्कर्म फक्त काही दिवस करायचे नाही, तर या *सत्कर्मात वय घालवावे म्हणजे मरे पर्येंत सत्कर्म करीत राहायचे आहे . हीच साधना आहे**
